This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or complete forms from https://www.teamployer.com/ (the “Site”).

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Account Information.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We may use your Account Information to:

  • Improve your browsing experience by personalizing the Websites;
  • Develop and improve our products and services;
  • Send information or content to you which we think may be of interest to you by post, email, or other means and send you;
  • Marketing communications relating to our business;
  • Promote the use of our services to you and share promotional and information content with you in accordance with your communication preferences;
  • Provide other companies with statistical information about our users—but this information will not be used to identify any individual user and will only be shared on an aggregate and de-identified basis;

When you initiate a transaction through the Site or any of our Services "Transactable Sites", payment transactions are handled by established third-party banking managers, processing agents, and distribution institutions. They will receive only the information required to verify and any payment to you.

Messages that you exchange through the Websites or Services are saved. If you send or receive messages through the Site or Services via SMS text message, we may log phone numbers, phone carriers, and the date and time that the messages were processed. We may also store the information that you provide when you communicate with us, including phone calls, e-mails, and other electronic messages, or in person.

We may use customer testimonials and comments to post on our Websites, which may contain Personal Information. We obtain each customer's consent via email prior to posting the customer's name and testimonial.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful requests for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

This section applies only to California consumers. It describes how we collect, use, and share California consumers' Personal Information in our role as a business, and the rights applicable to such residents. The California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") requires businesses to disclose whether they sell Personal Data. Teamployer is a business, and does not sell Personal Data. We may share Personal Data with third parties if those third parties are authorized service providers or business partners who have agreed to our contractual limitations as to their retention, use, and disclosure of such Personal Data. 

If you are unable to access this Privacy Policy due to a disability or any physical or mental impairment, please contact us and we will arrange to supply you with the information you need in an alternative format that you can access. 

For purposes of this section "Personal Information" has the meaning given in the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”).  

  • Identifiers, such as name, e-mail address, mailing address, and phone number. We collect this information directly from you or from third-party sources. 
  • Commercial information, such as subscription records. We collect this information directly from you. 
  • Geolocation data, such as IP address. We collect this information from your device.
  • Financial information, such as Payment Information or financial account numbers in the process of providing you with a subscription. We collect this information from you. 
  • Inferences. 
  • Other personal information, in instances when you interact with us online, by phone or mail in the context of receiving help through support channels; participation in customer surveys or contests; or in providing the Subscription Service. 

You have certain rights regarding the Personal Information we collect or maintain about you. Please note these rights are not absolute, and there may be cases when we decline your request as permitted by law.

The right of access means that you have the right to request that we disclose what Personal Information we have collected, used, and disclosed about you in the past 12 months. 

The right of deletion means that you have the right to request that we delete Personal Information collected or maintained by us, subject to certain exceptions. 

The right to non-discrimination means that you will not receive any discriminatory treatment when you exercise one of your privacy rights. 

How to Exercise your California Rights

You can exercise your rights yourself or you can alternatively designate an authorized agent to exercise these rights on your behalf. Please note that to protect your Personal Information, we will verify your identity by a method appropriate to the type of request you are making. We may also request that your authorized agent has written permission from you to make requests on your behalf, and we may also need to verify your authorized agent's identity to protect your Personal Information. 

YOUR RIGHTS

You have the following data protection rights:

  • Request access, correction, updates, or deletion of your personal information.
  • Object to processing of your personal information, ask us to restrict processing of your personal information or request portability of your personal information.
  • If we have collected and processed your personal information with your consent, then you can withdraw your consent at any time.     
    • Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

To Unsubscribe From Our Communications

You may unsubscribe from our marketing communications by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link located at the bottom of our e-mails, updating your communication preferences, or by contacting us at hello@teamployer.com. Customers cannot opt out of receiving transactional emails related to their account with us or the Subscription Service. 

To Unsubscribe From Our Customers' Communications

Our customers are solely responsible for their own marketing emails and other communications; we cannot unsubscribe you from their communications. You can unsubscribe from our customers' marketing communications by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link located on the bottom of their emails, or by contacting them directly.

CHANGES

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
